Round One, Family One

So, this is my humble new 'hood. Got a new gaming laptop, the Sims 4, and a little bit of free time. Good to go, right?

The Prosperity Challenge has always been my favorite way to play the Sims, because you don't get stuck with just one family for ten generations, you have multiple families to play in rotation and each sim is different. There's a lot of rolling to get started, like A LOT A LOT, but once you get that done it's all fun fun fun.  I rolled four families in my neighborhood, the family sizes varied from one lone sim to a full house of 8. All together I have 18 playable sims. None of which are toddlers or pets, because I must have read old rules to get started. But it's all good. I rolled for each sims aspirations and traits, like I said, a bit time consuming but worth the effort just for the random sims I will be playing. I don't believe I've ever played mean family sims before, or gloomy, childish sims. Lots of weird combinations that should prove fun and at times annoying, to play.  I was going to get a new empty neighborhood with matching houses and the same sized lots but that seemed too much of a pain in the butt for me so I just used Newcrest and chose random sized lots and homes from the gallery based on each family's size.

                  My First Family!

Aiden Amber. Teenager, orphan. Only member of his household. He's mean but loves the outdoors.  When he gets older he will be romancing half the town, but will also be family oriented. I think. For now, he scowls a lot.

I sent him to the dog park, because his house is small and lonely. And to be honest, I had just bought Pets, and I wanted to see the dogs! Here he's trying to give Rosie a bit of his hot dog, she's friendly enough but not really interested.

I give up at the dog park and send him on his way home, cause he's about to pee himself. Then I hear this dog whining as he walks by, and it says she's a stray named Maya.  He cautiously introduces himself to her.

She follows him home, they become fast friends, and he adopts her. I am so excited!

She's a pretty vocal dog, sings a lot, but also rolls in her own pee. Even though he's angry like all the time, he's patient with Maya and with no one else for him to talk to they have bonded pretty quickly already.

Since I started this challenge on the first day of Spring, playing for the entire season, (seven days), Love Day rolls around. He was moping because he wanted a love interest, so when a girl from school invites him out for karaoke he jumps at the chance.  His singing was awful, as expected. The girl didn't even show up, and the only people out so late on a school night were all too old for him.

No love interest yet, not even a close friend, but he did adopt a dog that he loves very much, he's doing ok in school, and still has about $6,000 in the bank so he's happy! Hopefully he will get a job the next time around, and maybe a friend. Or two? Thanks for reading!
