So, my second family is the Beige family. This is our matriarch, Beatrice. She's a hot-headed, music-loving foodie. She is not insane, although I had to double check that because wow, she's a weird one.
This is Bea's clumsy, perfectionist and creative husband, Brent.
Brent paints outside, no matter what the weather. So he is always uncomfortable because apparently it rains all day in Newcrest during the Summer.
This is Bea's brother, Bentley. He's good and outgoing, but he hates children. He also pouts a lot. Not sure why.
Bentley has a boring job in Business, and does boring things on the old computer. He's a pretty boring guy, overall.
This is Bea and Brent's daughter, Blessing. She is a cheerful, materialistic bookworm who loves to garden. She also is the mom of teenaged daughter, Blake. I realize she does not look cheerful in this picture, probably because most of her loved ones are old. Too old.
Blake is an active, outgoing, snobby Fortune sim, who wishes to be a Mansion Baron one day.
When (NOT) crazy grandma Bea sets the kitchen on fire, again....
Blake is the only one with the brains and gumption to put her out, and in turn put out the stove, counters, fridge, and couch in the next room. Thanks Bea, you were already dirt poor! Time to replace half the house. Get yourself a job and start paying off that debt.
Blake is superstressed, scared of the thunderstorms continuously rumbling outside, and not impressed with the outdoor toilet I placed due to the ratio of elders in the house to bathrooms. 3 > 1.
She takes a mud bath to relax, but that doesn't really work.
So she goes to the museum and tries out the bubble machine!
That seems to do the trick!
Meanwhile, back at home, the sun makes a brief appearance and Blake's mom, Blessing gets working on her gardening skill.
And Grandma Bea soaks up the sun while lounging in the kiddie pool.
Everyone seems happy, finally.
But then...
Later that day when the rain comes again. So does Grim...
Brent. He's come for Brent.
Granddaughter Blake pleads for a reprieve, but alas. She wasn't close enough for it to work. They barely had a chance to get to know each other. Heck, I barely knew Brent as well.
When Bea and Bentley arrive home that afternoon, the "loving" wife barely acknowledges her husband's urn. Bentley, Brent's best friend and brother-in-law, however, collapses.
Hours later, when everyone is inside crying, Bea is still riding on cloud 9, outside playing in the rain. Life is good for Bea Beige, husband or no.
Until it's not. Both Bea and her brother Bentley pass away from old age. I had forgotten, playing Prosperity style, in rotations, that they had lived an entire week, or season, before I even got to their family.
Poor Blake is broken up about it all, this girl is going to need a lot of therapy when she gets out of her teen years. Grandma, Granddad, and Great Uncle all gone within a day.
Just thought this was funny. I hadn't played the Sims in over a year, I forgot all the quirky little fun things they throw in there. Heh.
I think Blake's mom, Blessing has lost her mind.
In an effort to avoid more sad moodlets, we have a birthday party for Blake. As with the elders, I missed a great majority of her teen years. Oh well.
She invites a few friends from school, the party is basically a dud though, getting a bronze medal, and only that because she blew out the candles. The birthday girl kept going to her bedroom to "cry it out".
Now that she's all grown up, a young adult, I figure she could use some friends her own age. And maybe lose a few pounds. So she's off to the gym. She meets this uber muscular guy who loves dogs, so I think, "Awesome, perfect spouse material!" But nope. Can't remember his name but he has a husband and a dog and they are now good friends. Only.
She chats up this guy all on her own and they start laughing and having a grand old time. She keeps trying to fix his relationship with Eliza Pancakes who she also met tonight.
His name is Salim, he's single, since I haven't played in forever he's not familiar to me, he came over to hang out and ended up moving in! I mean, I realize they move fast, but I figure it'll be three more sim weeks before I play them again, a lot can happen in that time. I wanted to get the ball rolling.
Poor guy kept trying to flirt and she kept turning him down flat. Turns out playing in the rain makes her playful, not romantic. She goes inside to watch cartoons and he goes and sleeps in the spare bedroom. Well, it's a start. Thanks for reading!!
